Beautiful Birds, Beautiful Sights at the Dallas Arboretum!

The Dallas Arboretum has never been a stranger to providing its guests with plenty of exquisite sights and fresh air! And since Spring is now fully in bloom, there’s no stopping guests from getting the chance to fully take advantage of some truly spectacular weather and colorful arrangements!    This weekend, guests can experience the Dallas Arboretum’s amazing Dallas Blooms event—the largest annual floral festival in the Southwest. An annual event, this year’s theme will focus on intricate Avian life, particularly that of the majestic peacock! The “Birds in Paradise” exhibit will feature larger-than-life peacock topiaries along with more than 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs for your viewing pleasure. There will be 100 varieties of spring bulbs, thousands of azaleas, and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees. Texas is full of some really amazing nature and it’s always a great day to take some time to get some fresh air, especially after being cooped up all the time during 2020.  Summer is here and the flowers are in full bloom. This year, one of Austin’s most beloved historic parks is set to reopen with a brand new makeover, complete with acres of green space, hike-and-bike trails, playscapes for the kiddos, and a dazzling outdoor amphitheater for performances.  Waterloo Greenway Conservancy recently announced that on Monday, May 3rd after years of construction, Waterloo Park and Moody Amphitheater will open to the public this coming August. This sleek, scenic park is designed to cultivate the full Austin experience with stunning landscaping, plenty of nature, and fresh gardens for everyone to enjoy. Celebrate Spring at Austin’s Spring Festival!

Spring is here! That means fresh sunlight, budding flowers, and the sense of a whole new view for the year!  If you’re a local resident living in Austin, there’s a whole new reason to celebrate the new Spring season with the Austin Spring Festival! Barton Hill Farms is hosting its annual Austin Spring Festival on Saturdays and Sundays from April 17th to May 31st. This is an all-ages event that offers families an outdoor experience they’re sure to adore! The theme for this year’s festival will be focusing on flowers, featuring an array of zinnias, sunflowers, lupines, and cosmos planted in the U-Pick Flower Fields. Want something extra unique to add to the table? The Southwest Dairy Farmers Association will be hosting The Milk Cow Classroom daily throughout the festival, offering kids and adults the chance to learn more about the lives of dairy cows, farmers, and the value of milk. I’ve gushed about the Dallas Arboretum before, no bones about it. But the place honestly never stops surprising me, especially when it comes to great events to enjoy! And now, with spring just starting to peek over the Texas horizon, Dallas residents can enjoy some truly spectacular quality time in nature while also getting to see the Arboretum bloom in all its glory with the Dallas Blooms event! Named by Southern Living as one of “The Best Places to See Stunning Spring Blooms Across the South”, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s Dallas Blooms event will be the largest annual floral festival in the entire southwest! As much as I love staying indoors with a warm blanket during this cold weather, it’s also very important to take some time to get out and experience some nature and fresh air. And if you’re in the Overland Park region of Kansas, what better place to experience that kind of magic than at the Overland Park Arboretum?  This dazzling, scenic botanical garden features an array of beautiful trees, flowers, and plants that simply have to be fully experienced in the great outdoors.
