 A little-known fact about me--I’m absolutely nuts for the horror genre.  Not because I’m particularly morbid but because I just enjoy a good scare. And after years of enjoying these crazy popcorn flicks, you really come to appreciate the genre for what it is, as well as all the hard work and passion that goes into it from its talented actors and artists.  Luckily, I’m not alone. For years, the horror genre has cultivated a wide and dedicated audience, especially within the Houston community. And now Houstonians can celebrate because the Houston Horror Film Festival is finally here! Now that Covid is tapering off, we have the new opportunity to celebrate this amazing genre with a showcase of iconic guests, imagery, merchandise, and fun, all celebrating the chills and thrills of the horror genre over the years.   The circus is in town!  Well, the paranormal circus that is. Paranormal Cirque is a crazy combination of circus, theatre, and cabaret that truly is a kooky (but fun!) sight to behold. Audiences will get to see acrobats, illusionists, freaks, mysterious creatures, and all kinds of creepy, supernatural attractions meant to boggle the mind. It’s the perfect attraction for anyone with an appetite for the strange and bizarre. Personally, I love all things dark and unusual and I can’t wait to see what this eerie circus has to offer. For Dallas residents living near Town East Mall, they’ll have easy access to the event between the 21st and the 23rd of this month. While no one under the age of 13 will be admitted to the show, guests aged 13-17 can attend alongside a parent or guardian. I guess, in a way, that tidbit of information should be enough to warrant a spooktacular experience if you enjoy more straightforward scares and thrills.
