Go Wild at San Antonio Zoo’s Festival De Animales

It’s a jungle out there! Or at least, it is at the San Antonio Zoo.

Running from April 24th to April 25th, the San Antonio Zoo is celebrating animals, culture, and Latin American food with its Festival De Animales event! This exciting experience will be highlighting the animals native to South and Central America, as well as modes of conservation being taken to protect them. There will be plenty of room for guests to enjoy some delicious Latin American cuisine at select zoo restaurants and pop-up booths, making for an educational, but truly spectacular outing with friends and family.

The San Antonio Zoo might seem smaller in scale to other Texas zoos for those unfamiliar with it, but I can promise you that they make up for it with some really excellent habitats for the animals, as well as some great family-oriented activities and events on a monthly basis. You really get a sense that they take pride in their care for the animals, as well as the bustling jungle atmosphere all around the vicinity. From behind-the-scenes experiences to excellent educational programs, the San Antonio Zoo holds true to the value of quantity over quality, allowing for a fantastic visit every time you go!

The Zoo is just one of San Antonio’s many wonderful local features. Whether it’s the Alamo or the Riverwalk, locals can always count on San Antonio to provide the very best affordable living in the state, along with some really great dining and entertainment venues. If you’re an apartment resident living at places like Terrain at Medical Center or Latitude Apartments, you can easily take your pick at quick commutes to the best schools, restaurants, and fun-filled attractions including the San Antonio Zoo.

The Festival De Animales experience really does sound amazing, especially if you love animals and Latin American food like I do! I would recommend visiting their main website for more information about this event, or if you’re looking for someplace to find tickets with ease. It will also be really helpful, especially if you’re planning on visiting with small children, to take special Covid-19 safety precautions, including wearing a mask and practicing safe social distancing. Remember not to feed your tasty tamales to the animals!
