Let’s Geek Out at the Greater Austin Comic Con!

Back in the day, comic conventions exclusively targeted a small pocket of devoted fans. But now, with the presence of the internet and the prominence of pop culture, everyone can proudly call themselves a geek! 

Comic-Con, most known by its San Diego counterpart, is an exciting event where people can dress up and congregate to celebrate their favorite fan bases and franchises while also getting to partake in some nerd-filled shopping and even getting the chance to meet famous actors and creators associated with their favorite works! It might sound like a bit too much for some people but you’d be surprised at the level of love and dedication that Comic-Con brings to the table, even in its smaller, more regional subsets. 

Running from June 19th to June 20th, the Greater Austin area will proudly be featuring its very own Comic-Con, giving Texas residents the chance to enjoy some excellent exhibits, presentations, and all the things that make us proud pop culture fanatics. The event will include all the best Comic-Con features including vendors, gaming competitions, cosplay contests, a superhero-themed car show, guests, big-name artists and creators, entertainment for kids, and plenty more! 

The great thing about these convention events is that there really is an endless amount of things to see, do, and buy! I’ve been to a few and I can’t recall a single time where I was bored. Plus it’s just a really great way to meet people who share the same interests, as well as admire the level of detail that goes into some of the costumes that fans will dress in! 

Even if you haven’t previously attended, the Greater Austin Comic Con has all the best bits you could ever want in a two-day convention event. If you’re living at great nearby residences such as Northstar, Falls on Bull Creek, Treehouse, Woodstone, and The Reserve, you can easily make your way over so long as you’re mindful of the monster-levels of traffic entering the area. These conventions are known to be big money-makers for the area so it’s always important to prepare in advance.
