Rodeo Days: Dallas and Denton Residents Gather to Celebrate!

Yee Haw!

For those of you living near Denton or Dallas, it’s time to celebrate your Texas roots because the North Texas Fair and Rodeo is about to begin! This coming August, running from the 20th to the 28th, the nearby city of Denton will be hosting The North Texas State Fair and Rodeo for everyone to enjoy.

This nine-day event will feature a wide range of exciting and entertaining activities for people of all ages. You can take your pick of some truly festive engagements including live concerts, horse and livestock shows, contests, cook-offs, food, fun, games, and plenty more! There will also be a wide selection of various music performers including Aaron Watson, Terri Clark, Michael Salgado, Jake Hooker & the Outsiders, Giovannie & the Hired Guns, Randall King, Sawyer Brown, and more.

For those of you who have never been to a rodeo, I say that you simply aren’t a real Texan until you go. That’s an undisputed fact! A rodeo is more than cowboys and ranching--it’s simply the most fun you’ll ever have celebrating good old southern culture, along with some tasty treats and some quality entertainment.

For those of you living in the Dallas region, Denton is thankfully about a half-hour away with good traffic, making for an easy commute over if you’re looking for something fun to do during the weekend. Even if you’re like me and you’re enjoying a more relaxed Dallas atmosphere at places like The Lure or The Muse, you can easily make your way over to this amazing event with little to no hassle at all! I definitely recommend it as you don’t want to miss out on some truly great food and performances. It’s really just a perfect family event that you and the kiddos are not going to want to miss!

The North Texas State Fair Association is a volunteer-supported non-profit community organization. If you have any questions or if you would like to do some extra research about this event, you can visit their main website HERE. Whether you’re a Dallas or Denton resident, this is definitely the perfect place to visit, if only to show your support for the beautiful state of Texas. So what are you waiting for? Saddle up and let’s go!
