Horsing Around At The ManeGait Country Fair

Dallas’ incredibly close proximity to McKinney has, in the past, proven to be incredibly essential when it comes to finding new great things to do in the region.

And nowhere is that best expressed than with this great new upcoming event for horse-lovers everywhere! On June 12th, ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship is hosting its 4th annual ManeGait Country Fair event! Modeled after an old-fashioned country fair, this event will provide hours of wholesome horsetastic opportunities for the whole family including carnival games, contests, crafts, inflatables, a nerf battlefield, pony rides, a petting zoo, food, and live entertainment! Whew! A lot in one sitting but worth every moment!

I never went through a “horse phase” as a kid but I know for a fact that tons of kids do. What better way to take advantage than attending this great country fair? The horses there are really sweet and I really do feel that the organization does some really great work there helping to provide therapeutic services to kids with disabilities. And the great part is that all proceeds from the event will directly fund these services, helping ManeGait provide a compassionate, calming atmosphere for those who need it.

Dallas is usually the purveyor of loud big-name events so it feels good to dial it back and showcase something a bit smaller and more relaxed, especially since the summer is expected to heat up a bit later. If you’re a nearby Dallas resident living at affordable apartments such as The Lure, The Muse, and Residence at Lake Highlands, this is an excellent opportunity to take the kids out to some high-quality fun without ever losing a touch of heart and a sense of community.

I truly think that these guys do some excellent work and a country fair is never a bad way to pass the time! I’d say definitely check it out, especially if you have kiddos with a love for animals. Tickets seem to be running at $25 per carload and you can check out their main website HERE.

Make sure to wear your mask if you’re not vaccinated yet! Saddle up and have an absolute blast!
