Austin’s Museum of Ice Cream: A Sprinkle-Coated Spectacle

This one came as a big, but definitely welcome, surprise to me because I was not even aware that Austin had a Museum of Ice Cream! The more you know, the better. Especially when ice cream is involved!

Running from August to October, Austin’s Museum of Ice Cream will be featuring 12 reimagined and never-before-seen installations dedicated to the celebration and experience of enjoying ice cream. When guests drop by for a visit, they can enjoy a Shirley Temple soft serve in the 1960’s retro diner or ride on a life-size animal cookie in the Carnival Room.

Does that sound a bit out there? Well it is and it’s worth every moment. You can even enjoy a dip and slide in the world-famous sprinkle pool. Now this, I’ve GOT to see! Guests are invited to exclusively reserve one of the pool-side cabanas for their private events, giving them the full opportunity to sip and enjoy the sweet space all day long. The Museum will also additionally be debuting the launch of the Museum of Modern Ice Cream installation, where you can take part in creative ice-creamified takes on classic works of art while creating your very own masterpieces! And to cap it all off, guests can enjoy five unique ice cream treats as they are guided through the experience by performers.

Honestly, missing this one is NOT an option. I can’t imagine a better way for ice cream-lovers to congregate to enjoy some delicious flavors as well as see something amazingly and deliciously bizarre. Plus, if you have kiddos with a sweet tooth, this is definitely not something you can pass up on without sneaking just a little peek.

Austin is so weird. But in the best of ways. If you’re living at great, affordable apartment locations like Falls on Bull Creek, Northstar, and Treehouse Apartments, you can easily make your way over to the museum without much trouble. Having the chance to fully experience the beautifully unusual intricacies of Austin can be truly amazing, especially when it comes to food and treats!

I can definitely expect this event to fill up pretty quickly when it opens up so I recommend checking out their website for additional information as well as tickets. Tickets will likely be going for $39-$49 which is a good deal considering all the sweet things you’ll see and do.

Grab your spoons and get ready to dive in!
